Job description

Job Summary: As a Cemetery Groundskeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the serene and respectful environment of our Green Lawn Cemetery grounds. Your responsibilities will include performing various tasks to ensure the cemetery is clean, well-kept, and a place of comfort for visitors and families.

Cemetery Groundskeeper Duties and Responsibilities

  • Landscape Maintenance: Regularly mow, trim, edge grass, prune and planting of trees, shrubs, sod and flowers, ensuring that the cemetery grounds are aesthetically pleasing and free of overgrowth. In addition to clearing walkways, driveways and parking lots.
  • General Maintenance repairs and installations: install and maintain sprinkler systems and be able to use general hand tools such as shovels, rakes, clippers and saws, etc.
  • Grave Care: Dig and fill graves as needed, ensuring they are prepared in accordance with established procedures and in a compassionate manner.
  • Floral Arrangement: Arrange and maintain floral displays, wreaths, and other memorial decorations, ensuring they are displayed respectfully and replaced as necessary.
  • Headstone Maintenance: Clean and repair headstones and grave markers to preserve their integrity and readability.
  • Trash Removal: Collect and dispose of litter and debris throughout the cemetery, maintaining a clean and tidy appearance.
  • Customer Service: Interact courteously with visitors, providing directions, information, and assistance when needed, and offering empathy and support to grieving families.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $16-$18 an hour depending on experience.

Schedule: Monday through Friday and weekends as needed
