Health & Safety Instructor - Working at Heights Trainer

Employment: Full-time/Part-time

Location: North York and Richmond Hill, ON

Salary: $65,000-75,000 to start (FT), DOE 


Are you interested in a job that has both independence and a friendly, supportive team to work with - and where you can make a real, life-changing difference in people's lives? If you are a knowledgeable and experienced health and safety professional who is passionate about construction or industrial safety training and keeping workers safe, this role is for you!  


Worksite Safety Compliance Centre is looking to grow our team of instructors delivering our CPO-approved Working at Heights program. These Health & Safety Instructors will deliver training at either of our North York or Richmond Hill Training Centres and occasionally at other locations within the area. There may also be an opportunity for this instructor to train in other subject areas in the future (confined space entry or mobile equipment use, for example). The position reports to the Manager, Instructor-Led Training and could be full-time or part-time status depending on the candidate's needs.


As a Health & Safety Instructor your key responsibilities are:

  • Delivering engaging and informative Working at Heights training to job seekers, the general public and new and current members of the construction industry
  • Evaluating participants through practical skills and written evaluation 
  • Organizing, filing and submitting digital and hard copy participant records following training
  • Participating in team meetings and instructor development workshops


The right candidate will have the following qualifications and experience

  • 3+ years experience delivering training (Working at Heights program preferred)
  • Background in construction management and/or other fall hazard-related industry 
  • Work experience or certification in occupational health & safety preferred
  • Forklift, mobile elevated work platforms and confined space entry and rescue considered an asset
  • Strong interest educating people on the importance and value of health & safety training  
  • Self-starter who is able to work independently, while also contributing to a team 
  • Strong presentation and adult-engagement skills
  • Valid Ontario Driver Licence - occasional travel by car for work
  • Able to legally work in Canada
