Position Overview

Bloomingdale Psychotherapy Center is seeking dedicated and compassionate Full-time Mental Health Therapists to join our exceptional outpatient team in Brookhaven, New York. This remote role allows you to make a significant impact on individuals struggling with mental health disorders by providing high-quality, evidence-based therapy from the comfort of your home.

About the Organization

Bloomingdale Psychotherapy Center is committed to creating a supportive environment that empowers our clients to overcome challenges such as trauma, anxiety, and depression. Our multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals works collaboratively to provide comprehensive mental health services, driven by a passion for fostering personal growth and resilience in those we serve. We utilize a variety of evidence-based therapies tailored to meet the unique needs of each client, ensuring they receive the most effective treatment available.

Work Environment

As a remote therapist at Bloomingdale Psychotherapy Center, you will operate in an outpatient setting, providing services through telehealth platforms that prioritize accessibility and confidentiality. Our team comes together weekly for case consultations and peer reviews to promote a culture of continuous learning and collaboration. We encourage flexible scheduling during the typical work week from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM, adjusting as needed to accommodate patient requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments to evaluate client needs, employing solution-focused techniques to create individualized treatment plans.
  • Utilize various therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), to support clients in managing their symptoms effectively.
  • Maintain and manage detailed, accurate clinical documentation, adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary treatment team consisting of psychiatrists and psychologists to coordinate care plans tailored to each client's progress.
  • Participate in regular case consultations and peer review meetings, sharing insights and supporting fellow staff to elevate the quality of mental health care.
  • Provide education and resources to patients and their families, helping them understand mental health conditions and the treatment options available.
  • Stay current with developments in the mental health field, integrating new findings into therapeutic practices and contributing to ongoing professional growth.
Patient Population / Client Focus

At Bloomingdale, you will work with a diverse clientele dealing with a range of mental health challenges, including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, and relationship issues. We aim to provide an inclusive and accepting environment for all clients, regardless of their backgrounds or experiences. Your expertise will play a vital role in supporting them on their path towards mental wellness, personal insight, and resilience.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), LCSW-R, Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of New York.
  • Ability to apply a variety of solution-focused psychotherapy techniques pertinent to individual client needs.
  • Exceptional communication skills for interpersonal relations, including active listening, empathy, and clear articulation of complex ideas.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, allowing for effective intervention selection based on each client's unique challenges.
  • A collaborative spirit, appreciating the contributions of each team member in providing comprehensive patient care.
Preferred Experience

While experience in the field is not mandated, familiarity with telehealth practices and evidence-based therapeutic modalities will enhance your effectiveness in this role. Previous work in outpatient settings and proficiency in conducting virtual assessments can be beneficial in enhancing client engagement and satisfaction.

Compensation and Benefits
  • A competitive salary ranging from $115,000 to $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans to support your overall health and wellness.
  • Life and disability insurance for added financial security.
  • Malpractice insurance coverage, safeguarding your practice and expertise.
  • Access to an employee assistance program, offering vital resources for navigating personal challenges.
  • Unlimited referrals, providing you with ample opportunities to work with a fulfilling client caseload.
  • Minimal administrative burdens, allowing you to focus more on delivering quality care rather than paperwork.
