Senior Accountant
Rohnert Park, CA, USA • Permanent contract • As soon as possible
Performs accounting functions related to general ledger accounting, Sales Reporting and cost accounting. Responsible for maintaining accounting records and general ledger.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for month end process
  • Monthly bank reconciliation including preparation of journal entries
  • Maintain accurate inter-company reconciliations
  • Prepares and analyzes monthly account reconciliations
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset and associated depreciation schedules
  • Assists with preparing and analyzing financial statements monthly and report on variances
  • Responsible for RMA Processing & monitor AR collections
  • Working with the Accounts Receivable Specialist, maintain customer payment terms, credit limits, and credit holds in accordance with company policies.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and communicate collection concerns to the Accounting Manager.
  • Prepares and reviews Margin Reports on a monthly basis. Researching low margin business
  • Responsible for daily cycle counts
  • Prepare Sales Tax returns for various states
  • Assist with Year end Audit
  • Responsible for Standard Price, Delivery to Quote (PDQ)
  • Prepares Daily/Monthly Sales Report
  • Prepares Quarterly Sales Forecast
  • Responsible for Payroll, including 401k & Workers' Comp payments and audits
  • Back up for all basic accounting functions and costing function
  • Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL JOB DESCRIPTION
This position primarily operates in an office environment and requires the ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Duties may include sitting, standing, walking, communicating, using a computer and standard office equipment, and occasionally moving materials weighing up to 15 pounds. Occasional visits to manufacturing, warehouse, or production areas may be required. Appropriate safety procedures and PPE must be followed when entering operational areas.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting preferred; or Bachelor degree in Business accepted with related experience
  • Minimum five (5) years in related field or equivalent experience
  • Data entry and 10-key by touch with speed and accuracy
  • Strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Good judgment and analytical skills
  • Excellent knowledge of double entry accounting and its procedures and requirements
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office products
