In addition, the position supports financial reporting and projects, maintains financial spreadsheets, responds to financial questions, and works closely with staff across departments. Overall, the Staff Accountant helps ensure Midland Care’s financial records are accurate, compliant, and efficiently maintained while identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and support the organization’s financial goals.

  • Ability to understand and follow organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff across different departments
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet reporting deadlines
  • Willingness to learn and use evolving technology and financial systems

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a staff accountant or similar accounting position
  • Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, and monthly reconciliations
  • Experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, private-pay, healthcare billing, or claims
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and accounting software
  • Strong Microsoft Excel/spreadsheet skills

  • Paid Time Off (PTO), Personal and Taking Care of You Days

  • Free group life and AD&D insurance of $20,000
  • On-site education center to provide professional development and CEU credits
  • Free Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for employees and dependents
