Job Description
The Department of Youth and Community Development is seeking a Community Coordinator to help lead its efforts to support Community Based Organizations to assist and work with at-risk, homeless, runaway, and vulnerable youth in New York City.
The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) is hiring a Program Manager within the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Unit. In 2022, New Yorkers voters passed three ballot measures to advance racial equity in City government. One of the votes was for NYC agencies to develop racial equity plans. DYCD is hiring a program manager to support the implementation of the agency's Racial Equity Plan. DYCD's plan that seeks to advance racial equity in community engagement, resource allocation, and contracting. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and tracking the implementation of the plan and related activities. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate with staff across the agency to accomplish the equity goals and implement the strategies.
- Gather and track data on milestones, deliverables and performance indicators.
- Analyze, visualize and understand community data (ex. Demographic data).
- Prepare and submit progress reports on agency commitments.
- Participate on committees and work groups, serve as a program liaison to key internal and external
stakeholders.
- Contribute to public outreach and engagement to understand community perspectives.
- Support the development and preparation of equity plans.
- Develop recommendations on policies and procedures.
This position will report to the Chief Equity & Inclusion Officer. The ideal candidate has experience working across multiple institutions and units to implement strategies or plans. They also have strong management skills, with the ability to work independently as well as in a cross-disciplinary team. The selected candidate should excel in building and maintaining relations and serving as a liaison.

Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
