Job description

Job Title: Sr. Compensation Manager

Location: Chicago, IL – Hybrid (2 days from home Monday and Friday)

Job Type: Contract | 12 Months

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM


About the Role

We are seeking a Sr. Compensation Manager to lead and support compensation strategy and programs across North American operations. This role will partner closely with HR, business leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop competitive, equitable, and effective compensation programs for both hourly and salaried employees.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and administer compensation programs for hourly and salaried populations.
  • Lead annual salary planning and incentive compensation cycles.
  • Conduct and oversee job evaluations, market benchmarking, and salary structure development.
  • Support compensation strategy for manufacturing and operations environments, including union and non-union populations.
  • Analyze compensation data and provide market insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Lead cross-functional compensation initiatives and process improvements.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and senior leaders on compensation decisions.
  • Develop compensation-related training, policies, and procedures.
  • Support salary survey participation and compensation programs across multiple countries.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • 5+ years of compensation experience, preferably within manufacturing/operations.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation strategy, program design, and market analysis.
  • Experience supporting both hourly and salaried employee populations.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel experience.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence senior leaders.
  • Experience with Korn Ferry Hay job evaluation/slotting is strongly preferred.
  • CCP or other HR/compensation certification is a plus.
  • People management experience is preferred.
