Job description

Position Summary:
Functions as a staff nurse under the guidance and supervision of an experienced
Registered Nurse (RN). Performs routine patient care assignments and carries 
out established nursing procedures utilizing the nursing process. 

Qualifications:
Education:
Hold a current Texas permit or license as a Registered Nurse (RN). 
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Training and Experience:
1. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American 
Heart Association upon hire or transfer to department.
2. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart 
Association within six (6) months of hire or transfer to department. 
3. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American 
Heart Association within twelve (1)2 months of hire or transfer to 
department. 
4. Trauma Nurse Care Course (TNCC) within eighteen (18) months of 
hire or transfer to department. 
5. Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) within twenty-four 
(24) months of hire or transfer to department. 
6. Completion of ENA Modules within 6 months of being assigned by 
unit Director. Equivalent courses can be approved by unit directors.
