Job Summary
The student worker will provide educationally beneficial assistance to the Academic Outreach Department.
Responsibilities
Program facilitation - 50
Facilitate hands-on science programs to P-12 and adults in the middle GA area through field trips and programs on campus, in-school visitations, and after school programming.
Supplies Maintenance - 40
Students will maintain order and organization in the supply areas, get supplies ready for programs and clean and organize supplies after programs.
Other Duties as Assigned - 10
Other projects to be completed as needed.
Required Qualifications
Must be comfortable working with children of all ages.
Prior experience working with children.
Other Required Qualifications
Be awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) through the Financial Aid Office at GCSU for the current aid year. Federal Work Study awards can be confirmed through the student's PAWS account, Financial Aid, then Award Offer tab. Students who are not awarded FWS can contact the Financial Aid Office to see if they are eligible at financialaid@gcsu.edu.
This position will work in-person up to 19 hours per week.
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in science and/or informal education (nature centers, environmental centers, museums, etc.).
Prior experience working with children.
Proposed Salary
$10.00 / hour.
