Job description

This is a part-time position, up to 25 hours per week, with a starting hourly range of $31.44-$37.00 per hour. This is a 10 month position during the academic year.
SCOPE OF WORK: Assists the Department Chair with program and administrative oversight and coordination of the Precision Manufacturing Program including overseeing adjunct faculty and curricula. This position reports to the Mechanical Engineering and Precision Manufacturing Department Chair at Nashua Community College.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
โ€ข Develops, implements, and evaluates curricula in the Precision Manufacturing Program; maintains program/course documents, and revises documents in a timely manner.
โ€ข Serves as academic advisor to students to promote student retention.
โ€ข Selects, monitors, and evaluates intern/practicum sites.
โ€ข Assists the admissions office with program promotion and student recruitment through activities such as college open houses, career days and high school fairs.
โ€ข Writes reports such as annual reports, self-study, program, and college accreditation.
โ€ข Assists Department Chair with faculty recruitment, orientation, and assignment of teaching accountabilities.
โ€ข Serves on campus or system committees/teams.
โ€ข Complies with all college, system, state and federal rules and regulations.
โ€ข Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university with major study in Industrial Technology, Precision Manufacturing or related field.
Experience: Five years of professional experience in Precision Manufacturing, machining and
Machine Shop Management.
OR
Education: Master's Degree from a recognized college or university with major study in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
Experience: Three years of professional or paraprofessional teaching experience in higher education or three years' experience in Precision Manufacturing, machining and
Machine Shop Management., or related area.
License/Certification: Valid driver's license or access to transportation.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of the subject matter as it relates to the course of instruction, teaching methods and materials, and curriculum development, and course/program evaluation. Considerable knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques, materials, tools and equipment used for instruction within the program area. Knowledge of educational standards and procedures. Ability to work with and secure the cooperation of others. Ability to maintain comprehensive records of the progress and development of the individual student. Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and as a member of academic department/team. Ability to handle matters with diplomacy and to maintain confidentiality, as appropriate. Ability to exercise professional judgment and proper decision-making. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
