General Description
The Human Resources Student Assistant FWS will assist with various duties in Human Resources. Duties include assisting customers with HR service needs, answering phones, onboarding paperwork, scanning and filing personnel records, and assisting HR staff as requested.

Current OCCC student with Federal Work Study Award
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to work in organized manner.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
Positive communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and interact with customers in a positive manner.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) or similar software programs.
Accurate spelling and filing skills.
High attention to detail.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Light work: The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
This position requires the person to frequently move about the Human Resources office and occasionally move about the OCCC main campus to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to visitors, administration, faculty, staff, students, and others to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.
This position frequently requires the person to operate a computer and other office equipment to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to operate equipment that frequently involves repetitive motions of hands and wrists.
This position requires the person to frequently position self to work on equipment, to assist customers, and to perform the essential functions of the position.
3. VISUAL ACUITY:
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS
This position performs the essential functions in an indoor office setting.

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement)
Maintain filing in up-to-date order as directed, and in accordance with Human Resources filing procedures.
Prepare documents and files for electronic imaging.
Scan documents and files into the HR electronic imaging system and proof accuracy of work.
Make copies, sort and prepare materials for distribution as needed.
Serve as back up receptionist as needed. Answer telephone and refer calls to appropriate individuals. Greet, screen, and announce visitors.
Deliver information/materials to departments as needed.
Assist with completing onboarding paperwork for new employees.
Assist with special projects as requested.
Job Duties (Safety / Policy & Procedures)
Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures.
Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.
Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.
Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC's established safety and health procedures and practices.
Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
