Job Description
Students in Federal work study positions assist GTCC students, faculty, and staff in the libraries. The library provides resources and research assistance to all members of the GTCC community. The students assist the library team with inventory, book check-outs, shelving, answering phones, providing directions, and helping with special projects.
Duties/Functions
  • Assist students at circulation desk: Book & DVD checkout & returns and placing holds on items at other campus libraries.
  • Assist students navigating college and library web pages.
  • Assist students with uploading files & other Moodle functions.
  • Shelving returned materials.
  • Shelf reading book and DVD collection periodically to check for errors.
  • Assist library staff in cleaning surfaces, computer screens, keyboards as needed.
  • Assist students with directional questions.
  • Collect daily mail and returned books from book drop, process outgoing mail.
  • Refill paper in printer & copier; alert staff to any other supply or equipment issues.
