Job description

The Center for Student Veterans a Military Connected Students Student Aide serves as the first point of contact for students, employees and community members contacting the Center. Student Aides must be able to provide exceptional customer service in-person, via telephone, and through written/virtual communication. Additional duties include helping the office with special projects, working student events, having a strong understanding of the opportunities for students to engage with The Center for Student Veterans and Military Connected Students and Student Engagement.

In order to apply for this position, you must be a current Harper College student eligible to receive VA Work Study benefits in the Fall 2026 semester.  

Requirements of the Veterans Work Study Program from https://www.va.gov/education/about-gi-bill-benefits/how-to-use-benefits/work-study/  

  1. Enrolled at least time in a college degree, vocational school, or professional program.  
  2. You can finish the work-study contract while you still qualify for education benefits.  
  3. You're using an approved VA education benefits program to pay for your education or training.  

Student Aides must be able to provide exceptional customer service in-person, via telephone, and through written/virtual communication. Special Notes: 

Due to the nature of event set-up, implementation, and tear down, students must be able to lift 15 lbs.
