Job Summary

The Machining Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of precision machining equipment, including Hydromat rotary transfer and multi-spindle machines. This position supports the production of high-quality components by ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Candidates with previous machining experience or a strong mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply. Paid, hands-on training is available for qualified candidates who are looking to develop their technical skills and advance within the organization.


Shift:

Sunday Night - Friday Morning 10:00pm - 6:00am but hours could vary


Essential Job Functions:

  • Operate precision machining equipment safely and efficiently to meet production requirements.
  • Set up machines according to engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and production specifications.
  • Load materials, monitor machine performance, and verify production quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Perform machine changeovers, tooling adjustments, tool replacement, and machine offsets as required.
  • Inspect finished products using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Troubleshoot machine and process issues to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and assist with mechanical repairs and component replacement.
  • Install, replace, and adjust machine parts, tooling, and attachments.
  • Enter or modify machine operating commands when applicable.
  • Maintain accurate production, quality, tooling, and maintenance records.
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and machine performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to share knowledge, support training, and continuously improve manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed (training provided if required).

Requirements

Required

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Previous machining, manufacturing, maintenance, or machine shop experience, or the willingness to learn through company-provided training.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Basic shop math and analytical skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred

  • Experience with Hydromat, rotary transfer, multi-spindle, or CNC machining equipment.
  • Technical training or certification in machining or a related field.
  • Experience with machine setup, changeovers, tooling, and preventive maintenance.
  • Forklift experience or willingness to become certified.
  • Leadership or operator training experience.
