About this opportunity:

The Ball State University department of history provides undergraduate instruction to majors, minors, and students taking classes to fulfill their plan of study. HIST 151 is a survey of world history from the development of writing to the renaissance. The department is seeking part-time fall semester instructors to teach.
Qualifying candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Please note that applications will remain active for one year. Therefore, if you apply for this position, you may not hear from the department until there is a need to hire an instructor.

What you'll do and what you'll bring:

Position Description:

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide online or in person instruction.

  • Use master syllabus to construct syllabus and Canvas page.

  • Provide instruction, perform assessment, maintaining records including midterms and finals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in history with a specialty in the Middle East or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in visual history: video documentary, video games, websites/apps, or virtual reality.

  • Commitment to instruction through immersive learning (find BSU website)

Requires successful completion of a background check and education verification.
