HR Assistant

Position Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and personable HR Assistant to support our growing team. The Part-Time HR Assistant will support the day-to-day human resources functions of the firm, working closely with firm leadership and administration. This is an ideal role for someone with HR experience who is looking for flexible, meaningful work within a creative professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Post job openings and coordinate candidate communications
  • Schedule interviews and manage applicant tracking
  • Prepare offer letters and onboarding materials
  • Facilitate new hire orientation and first-day setup

Employee Records & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee files
  • Track certifications, licenses, and continuing education requirements
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Support annual HR audits and policy updates

Benefits & Payroll Support

  • Assist with benefits enrollment and employee questions
  • Coordinate with payroll provider on timekeeping and changes
  • Track PTO, sick leave, and employee attendance

Culture & Communications

  • Support staff training initiatives and track completion
  • Assist in planning firm events and recognition programs
  • Serve as a confidential and approachable resource for staff

General Administration

  • Maintain and update the employee handbook
  • Draft HR communications and firm policies
  • Support performance review processes and scheduling
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of HR experience; creative firm experience a plus
  • Familiarity with HR software (BambooHR, or similar)
  • Experience with Deltek (Vision or Vantagepoint) a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and discretion with confidential information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Compensation

TBD, depending on qualifications and experience

Up to 24 hours per week | Flexible scheduling available
