Department Description

The GlaxoSmithKline U.S. Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) organization is responsible for the delivery of key DMPK support (in vitro, pharmacokinetic, and bioanalytical) that helps drive early drug discovery programs. Within that structure, the In Vivo team is responsible for nonclinical in vivo pharmacokinetic and toxicokinetic data to support discovery and development programs from target identification through post-approval, partnering closely with In Vitro, Non-Clinical safety, and Bioanalytical teams.

Job Description

The GSK U.S. Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics group is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our PK/TK team for a 6-month co-op. The successful candidate's primary responsibility will be assisting in the pharmacokinetic (PK) analysis of DMPK studies using both Microsoft Excel and Phoenix Winnonlin. Working closely with PK team members, the candidate will help plan and execute in vivo PK studies through study preparation, data analysis, and data interpretation. The ability to work both independently and within a team environment is expected.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Learn the basic principles of in vivo PK/TK and disposition studies
  • Input into planning PK and/or TK study design, data analysis, data interpretation, decision making and compliance
  • Study delivery and oversight of internal and/or external PK/TK studies
  • Competent at conducting basic Pharmacokinetic/ Toxicokinetic data analysis
  • Proficient user in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Learn DMPK platforms and digital tools to ensure robust data capture and maintain data integrity
  • Assist with study and sample preparation
  • Analyze, interpret and present data to DMPK staff
  • Work effectively in cross-functional teams
Minimum Qualifications
  • Pursuing a degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry or similar discipline.
  • Experience in Biology or Chemistry lab.
  • Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout theย 6-month co-op (September/October 2026 ~ April 2027).
  • Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with data analysis and report writing.
  • Experience with lab animal sciences and drug metabolism.
  • Knowledge with In Vivo study preparations.

  • Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check prior to assignment target start date.

  • GSK Interns and Co-ops are offered a competitive hourly pay rate and benefits. Please note, benefits eligibility determined the month following date of hire.
  • This job posting is for a temporary role as an employee of Atrium on assignment at GSK. The individual selected for this role will be offered the role as an employee of Atrium; compensation, medical benefits, fringe benefits and other terms and conditions of employment shall be presented by Atrium upon offer. The pay rate range provided is a reasonable estimate of the anticipated compensation range for this job at the time of posting. The actual pay rate will be based on several factors, including skills, competencies, experience, educational degree obtained, location and/or being pursued and other job-related factors permitted by law.

    In addition, this role will be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirement.

    • Pay Rate Range: $22/hr to $43/hr
