JOB DESCRIPTION
TRiO Upward Bound (UB) is a program that works with first-generation, income-eligible students at Central High School and Grand Junction High School to support their educational journey in high school and into college.
Tutors with the Upward Bound program will:
  • Tutor Upward Bound students daily, Monday-Thursday from 3-5:00 PM
  • Provide homework assistance and tutoring for high school subjects including: math, English, social studies, and science
  • Build supportive relationships with Upward Bound participants by acting as a mentor and assisting students in achieving their academic and extracurricular goals
  • Assist the Upward Bound Advisor with administrative needs, dependent on the time of year

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status
  • Earned a minimum 3.0 GPA, with at least a B in the subjects you are interested in tutoring
  • Work study funding
  • Ability to work 3-5 Monday-Thursday during the high school academic year

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual in Spanish

Compensation: $15.50/hour for entry-level; follow compensation recommendations for continuing employees
