Job Description:

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is a non-profit community blood bank serving more than 150 hospitals in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee. This position will report to the Donor Services Manager in Gainesville, FL. The Community Promotions Intern will assist in scheduling and promotion of blood drives, to recruit student blood donors within the community and on campus.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Promotion of upcoming drives and events
  • Community outreach to individuals or businesses over the phone or in person
  • Cold calls to potential new accounts
  • On-site recruitment
  • May assist with the production of promotional materials

Shift/schedule assignment will be part-time, primarily between normal business hours (Mon-Fri, 9:00am - 5:00pm) but could also include some night and/or weekend hours.

Expected Salary:

$14.00/hour

Minimum Requirements:

This is a Federal Work Study position, no exceptions. Must provide proof of work study in application.

We are looking for someone who can work Summer 2026 with the possibility of working through Fall 2026 (and beyond).

Position requires routine lifting and moving of items up to 25 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent customer service and public speaking skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with computer programs, such as MS Office (Work, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point)
