Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.

The selected engineer will perform as a member of an interdisciplinary team on a key effort to develop novel and innovative solutions to advanced technical problems.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will design and develop system architectures as well as define key capabilities and performance requirements. You will define design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with customer specifications, and develop a thorough definition of system external interfaces. You will also define system implementation approaches and operational concepts to ensure requirements are met. You will also evaluate the performance with the customer.

Essential functions include:

- Assist in development of system architectures.

- Architecture, CONOPS, and use case development using model-based systems engineering methodologies.

- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

- Perform system requirements analysis.

- Automation workflow development of multi-disciplined functional processes in support of various engineering and business processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 12 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 10 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 8 years of related professional/military experience.
  • Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
  • Experience with Cameo Enterprise Architecture and the Systems Modeling Language (SysML).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Software Engineering with experience using Model-Based Systems Engineering.
  • Experience in the military aerospace development environment is preferred.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies

Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
