Who we are looking for:

GTA Data Centers is seeking a hands-on Facility Infrastructure Technician to support the daily readiness of our data centers. This role covers rack and stack activity, cabling support, package and RMA receiving support, vendor escort, basic repairs, outdoor facility upkeep, and general site readiness across a growing data center business. It's a great opportunity for a practical problem-solver who enjoys physical work, technology infrastructure, clean execution, and learning how critical facilities operate.


Here is what the role looks like:
As a Facility Infrastructure Technician at GTA Data Centers, you'll perform scheduled walkthroughs, support deployment and infrastructure work, carry out facilities upkeep and safety tasks, and handle documentation and closeout. Other essential job functions include:

  • Perform scheduled walkthroughs of data halls, support rooms, loading areas, infrastructure rooms, outdoor areas, and common workspaces.
  • Identify visible leaks, blocked access, alarms, damaged equipment, cleanliness issues, unsafe conditions, or other facility concerns.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, or work requests as directed by the escalation tree and Director of Technical Operations.
  • Maintain work areas, tool areas, staging areas, outdoor areas, and infrastructure spaces in ready condition.
  • Support rack, stack, cabling, cabinet, pathway, cage, containment, and general data hall infrastructure work according to approved instructions.
  • Assist with customer and internal installs, moves, adds, changes, removals, remote hands, and cross-connect support when assigned.
  • Support cable tray, pathway, floor tile, rack accessory, patching, cable management, and infrastructure cleanup work.
  • Assist with loading dock activity, package receipt, RMA receipt and return handling, staging, storage, asset movement, receiving support, and equipment handling activities.
  • Perform basic repairs and general infrastructure tasks within training, qualification, and authorization limits.
  • Support outdoor and cosmetic facility upkeep such as mowing, trimming, outdoor cleaning, painting, window washing, and related site appearance work.
  • Escort vendors, customers, or visitors when assigned and authorized under physical security policy.
  • Follow site safety rules, access controls, tool controls, housekeeping standards, and data center work procedures.
  • Coordinate with Documentation and Assets so physical work, package inspection, damage photos, packing slip handoff, RMA handling, labels, DCIM records, asset records, and closeout expectations stay aligned.
  • Capture photos, notes, work order updates, and completion evidence for assigned field work.
  • Escalate customer-impacting, safety, security, cleanliness, labeling, or facility risks promptly.
  • Performs other related duties and special projects assigned to support evolving business priorities


Candidates must show:

  • Practical hands-on ability with basic tools, equipment handling, cable management, cleanup, and facility support work.
  • Ability to follow written instructions, work safely around critical infrastructure, and ask questions before guessing.
  • Basic understanding of data centers, telecom, construction, facilities, or structured cabling work is helpful but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail, clean work habits, and willingness to document completed work.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with technicians, customers, vendors, and security processes.

Here's what you need to have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Trade school, technical training, military experience, construction, telecom, facilities, or equivalent work experience is helpful.
  • 1 or more years of hands-on facilities, construction, telecom, warehouse, maintenance, structured cabling, or data center support experience preferred. Motivated entry-level candidates with strong work ethics will be considered.
  • Comfortable learning and safely using hand tools, basic power tools, ladders, labeling tools, cable-management tools, and facility support equipment.
  • Basic ability to use email, shared documents, work orders, checklists, photos, and simple record systems.
  • OSHA, forklift, lift, CPR/first aid, low-voltage, telecom, or related certifications are helpful but not required at hire.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel between various locations
  • Must be able to pass required background checks and follow data center security, safety, and access-control policies.
