Full Time Secondary Special Education Paraprofessional
Position Purpose
We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team at Plateau Valley School District as a full time Special Education Paraprofessional.

Essential Job Functions
Paraprofessionals are responsible for helping students with academic difficulties.  They may work one-on-one or in small groups to provide instruction, encouragement, and support for students.  The paraprofessional will work within the regular education classroom and/or Special Education Classroom.The Paraprofessional will work under the supervision of the Special Education teacher  and will can also receive on-the-job training from the teacher(s). 
Additional Duties
Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Equipment
  • Assist in the utilization and maintenance of instructional and non-instructional equipment, including a personal computer if necessary.
  • Use standard office equipment, such as personal computers and copiers.

  • Effective writing and communication skills.

Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
Works in standard office and school building environments.
Qualifications Profile
  • High School diploma or equivalent..
  • Prior experience working with children desirable.  Title 1/Special Education staff will also provide on-the-job training and supervision for candidates.
Schedule
Position is for 8 hours each day, Monday-Thursday (and some Fridays due to current calendar changes for Fall 2025 only).  
Wages
Wages are based on the 2025-2026 Salary Scale available on www.pvsd50.org > Financial Transparency tab>Salary Schedules (2025-2026)>Classified Salary Schedule.  Wage starts at $16.56/hr.  Salary Schedule is attached.
