Position Summary: The focus of this course will be to provide a critical perspective on issues and best practices in the fields of health and mental health. Current issues and best practices include dominant and critical perspectives on issues such as deinstitutionalization, social work and the DSM, and evidence-based practices in mental health, as well as alternative discourses such as consumer-based movements, the recovery model of mental health and peer mentorship initiatives.

Qualifications - Required Areas of Specialization: PhD Degree an asset. Eligibility for appointment to the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies is required to teach graduate courses.

This appointment is in accordance with the Contract Teaching Faculty and Part-time Librarians Collective Agreement, for which the Wilfrid Laurier Faculty Association (WLUFA) is the exclusive bargaining agent.  All applicants are assessed using both the "Appendix H: Assessment of CTF Candidates under 13.6.1" in the collective agreement and the program specific rubric.  Candidates should review these documents and ensure the information required is easily accessible in the application.
