Help shape the communities where people live, work, and thrive. As a Civil Engineering-in-Training, you will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects including roadways, water distribution systems, sanitary sewers, stormwater management facilities, and land development projects. This role offers a balance of technical design and field review responsibilities, providing valuable experience across the full project lifecycle while working alongside industry-leading professionals.


Your Impact

  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, plans, profiles, and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D for municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Perform hydraulic, stormwater management, grading, and earthwork calculations to support project design and delivery.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering reports, technical memoranda, and permit applications for municipal and regulatory approvals.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, contractors, and senior engineers to advance projects from concept through construction.
  • Conduct field reviews and site inspections to verify construction compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.
  • Document site progress, observations, and deficiencies through detailed field reports and photographic records.
  • Witness and record quality assurance testing activities, including soil compaction, concrete testing, and other construction verification processes.
  • Support the development of sustainable and resilient infrastructure that positively impacts local communities and future generations.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Eligible for registration or currently registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with the applicable provincial engineering association.
  • Experience with or strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of municipal engineering design principles including grading, stormwater management, water distribution, and sanitary systems.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and stormwater modeling software is considered an asset.
  • Strong technical writing skills with the ability to prepare clear and concise engineering reports and field review documentation.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle, with the ability to travel to active project sites as required.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $66,700 - $88,400

MB & ON: $60,900 - $83,800
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $60,300 - $80,000
