Job description

Join our team as an Emergency Medicine Physician in Santa Fe, NM, and lead the way in patient care.

Sound Physicians is a physician-founded and led, patient-first medical group grounded in one belief: better support for clinicians leads to better care for patients. Our emergency medicine teams are empowered to lead care locally with the backing of a strong national network committed to clinical excellence, intentional leadership development, and collaborative partnership. Here, you’ll practice alongside care teams that work seamlessly across Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, and Critical Care—creating smoother transitions, stronger accountability, and better outcomes for the communities we serve.

If you’re looking for a place where your clinical judgment is valued, your growth is supported, and your work truly makes a difference, we’d love to talk.

Local Team Collaboration:

  • Join our close-knit team of 8 physicians and 2 APPs at Presbyterian Santa Fe.
  • Work alongside our dedicated providers, committed to providing patient-centered care in collaboration with all stakeholders in a positive manner.
  • Accountable, on-site leadership: a local medical director who knows the community and owns the department's performance, supported by Sound's leadership-development tools.
  • Stable, well-staffed teams: cohesive teams aligned on our patient-first culture of excellence, which means less reliance on premium temp labor and more predictable shifts.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates eligible for consideration must have emergency medicine training.
  • Board-certification in iABEM/ABOEM, or eligible, except for obtaining certification.
  • Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Scheduling:

  • APP coverage:
    • Daily coverage 9 am-7 pm, and 12 pm-10 pm
  • Physician coverage:
    • Physician coverage is provided 7 days a week with shifts from 7 am to 4 pm, 3 pm to 12 pm, and 10 pm to 7 am.
    • The monthly workload for full-time positions is 120 hours, while part-time entails 80 hours per month.

Key Responsibilities:

  • There are 20 ER beds and four additional ICU beds.
  • The EM team is trained to respond to codes.
  • The hospitalist team is part of the Rapid Response and code team.
  • EPIC is our EMR.

Living and working in Santa Fe:

  • From breathtaking sunsets to a rich history and cultural scene, Santa Fe offers a blend of outdoor adventures, culinary experiences, and artistic inspiration. Moving to Santa Fe is a lifestyle shift toward outdoor living, creative pursuits, and community.
  • Whether one is captivated by Santa Fe’s unique architecture, scenic trails, or world-renowned cuisine, there’s something here for everyone.
  • Santa Fe's climate is a standout, offering an average of 300 days of sunshine each year. Its high-desert environment and elevation of 7,000 feet provide four distinct seasons, allowing residents to enjoy the best of every type of weather.

Rewards and Compensation:

  • Competitive W2 compensation.
