Job description

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement warehouse strategies to optimize space utilization, streamline workflows, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
  2. Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control processes, including receiving, storing, picking, and shipping of goods. Ensure accuracy of inventory records through regular cycle counts and audits.
  3. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate warehouse staff to achieve performance targets and maintain high levels of productivity. Provide training as needed to ensure team members are equipped with necessary skills.
  4. Safety Compliance: Enforce safety standards and procedures to create a safe working environment for all warehouse personnel. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any issues promptly.
  5. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy and integrity of outbound shipments. Address any quality issues and collaborate with relevant teams to resolve them.
  6. Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems. Ensure equipment is properly maintained and serviced to minimize downtime.
  7. Vendor Relations: Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely receipt of goods and resolve any issues related to shipments or deliveries. Negotiate favorable terms and pricing when necessary.

  10. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of warehouse activities, including inbound and outbound shipments, inventory levels, and performance metrics. Generate regular reports for management review.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role, with a track record of success in optimizing operations and leading teams.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management principles, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members at all levels.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve performance.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Forklift certification and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles are a plus.
