Job description

Position: Billing/Accounting Assistant
Location: Roseland, NJ
Work Model: In Office during training; 1 day per week work from home after training period
Compensation: $22.00–$26.00 per hour
Schedule: 30–40 hours per week, Monday–Friday. Generally 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, with flexible hours available
Overtime: Eligible

Overview
A law firm is seeking a  Billing/Accounting Assistant to support its billing and accounting team. This role involves assisting with legal billing, client invoices, fee and expense reporting, accounts payable support, and other administrative duties as needed.
This position can be part-time or full-time, with flexible hours available. The role is in office during the training period, with 1 day per week work from home available after training is completed.
The ideal candidate has experience in accounting, finance, billing, or accounts payable. Legal billing experience is a plus, but the firm is willing to train the right person.
Responsibilities
Assist with client billing, including invoice submission and resolution.
Request fee authorizations from clients.
Run fee and expense reports.
Assist the Accounting Manager with accounts payable duties.
Process outgoing payments.
Enter day-to-day financial transactions into the accounting software program.
Verify and process reimbursement checks.
Support other billing, accounting, and administrative duties as needed.
Work closely with other billers and the Accounting Manager.
Maintain accuracy and confidentiality when handling financial and client information.
Qualifications
Experience in general accounting, finance, billing, or accounts payable.
Experience with Windows-based accounting programs.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and manage confidential information.
Ability to work with minimal direction once trained.
Excellent communication skills.
College degree and/or equivalent work experience.
Must be able to commute to Roseland, NJ.
Law firm experience with legal billing is a plus- not required
Juris experience is a plus.
