Job Details

The Senior instructional Designer is passionate and responsible for leading, designing and developing training solutions using instructional design best practices that support multiple learning styles. Identifies appropriate media for both virtual and classroom delivery including but not limited to: instructor-led training, on-line courses, web-based training, video, micro-learning, and simulations.
Consults and collaborates with internal team members and clients at all levels to analyze training needs and identify learning objectives that take into consideration such things as business objectives, audience needs, deadlines, budget, delivery platforms and internal quality standards. Identify success measurements.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform needs analyses and develop recommendations for specific training interventions (planning, collecting data, data analysis, and reporting)
  • Manage training project initiatives from end-to-end; including creating project plans, assigning tasks and due dates to project team members, and assessing risk.
  • Drive instructional design standards, strategies and technologies that leverage media to instruct and educate staff across the organization.
  • Lead, design and develop learning, practice, and assessment materials
  • Evaluates and ensures the quality, accuracy, relevance, effectiveness and completeness of instructional materials
  • Leads team and subject-matter experts in targeting the audiences training needs
  • Convert instructor-led training classes into blended learning solutions
  • Measure training effectiveness by creating and analyzing surveys, evaluations and needs assessments
  • Apply tested instructional design theories, practices and methods
  • Develop strong relationships at all levels of the organization and serve as a business training partner to all departments
  • Design, develop and deliver curriculums
  • Remains current in trends, development, and innovations in adult learning, training, technology, and instructional methodologies.
  • Recommends and implements procedures and practices that improve the instructional design process used by the organization.
  • Design and write training manuals and job aids
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

Education:

  • Master's degree in a related field is preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree required in a related field is required
  • 5 years of demonstrated experience in in designing and delivering online and instructor led classes -required
  • Instructional Design or eLearning technical certification- preferred

Skills/Abilities:

  • Project management skills (project plan, task management, due dates, delegation)
  • Ability to storyboard, write effective copy, instructional text, audio/video scripts
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proven ability to communicate with all levels and build a high level of credibility within the organization
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver virtual learning cross functionally
  • Proven working experience in instructional design
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills
  • Experience with LMS platforms, Cornerstone On Demand preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methodology
  • Excellent graphic design skills, with the ability to develop multimedia content
  • Proficiency in building simulation and scenario-based eLearning
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and listening skills
  • Ability to promote continuous learning as an organizational priority
  • Excellent design, editing skills, proofreading and analytical skills
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Proficiency in various design software such as Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Vyond, and Camtasia.
