Full Stack Engineer

Arbital Health

OR • On-site, Remote

$150K - $170K/yr

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, PTO

Posted 17 days ago

Key responsibilities

  • Build customer-facing and internal interfaces in Next.js and React to display healthcare and financial data.

  • Design and implement API routes that handle high volumes of complex healthcare data to support product features.

  • Collaborate with product, design, and actuarial teams to translate models and designs into functional features.

Job description

Arbital Health is a rapidly growing healthcare technology and actuarial leader that centralizes, measures, and adjudicates value-based care contracts at scale.  We enable payers and providers to design, measure, and execute value-based agreements with greater transparency, efficiency, and financial predictability.
We invest in hiring high potential and humble individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and can rapidly grow their responsibilities as we continue to accelerate our growth.

We were co-founded by Brian Overstreet and Travis May (founder & former CEO of LiveRamp and Datavant, the two biggest data companies of the last 20 years), and are backed by Transformation Capital, Valtruis and other leading investors. In our first 2 years, Arbital Health has established itself as a trusted partner for over 40 payers, providers, and other stakeholders looking to navigate the complexities of risk-based contracting.

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer that will work across our product stack - from React components to API routes to the SQL queries behind them - owning features end to end, from design through production. You'll work in an AI-native environment -- fluency with AI coding tools isn't just a nice-to-have; it's how we ship fast without sacrificing quality. You will have real ownership early: you will be trusted to take a well-scoped problem and run with it.  This is a strong fit if you care about the craft of building interfaces people actually enjoy using, and you want to go deep on a genuinely hard problem space: making complex healthcare and financial data legible. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and communicate clearly with both engineers and other internal teams, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
What you'll do:
Turn dense actuarial and financial output into interfaces that are clear at a glance, including data tables, charts, and exports that hold up under real-world data volumes and actuarial scrutiny
Build customer-facing and internal interfaces in our Next.js and React application - the product our customers use to design and monitor the performance of their value-based care contracts
Design and implement the API routes that power those features, working with high volumes of complex healthcare data
Work closely with our Product, Design, and actuarial science teams to bring their models and designs to life in the product
Write tests, review teammates' code, and help keep the codebase something the team is glad to work in
What you bring:
2-5 years of professional full-stack development experience
A track record of shipping features to production that real users depend on
Strong fundamentals in TypeScript, Python, and React - you understand component design, state, and rendering behavior, not just the syntax
Able to work entrepreneurially: self-motivated, ambitious, and comfortable in a rapidly changing, ambiguous start-up environment
Prior healthcare experience is a plus
   Startup experience is a plus
Tools we use:
Python, R, SQL, Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, FastAPI
   Claude, Cursor
   Infrastructure: AWS, Databricks, PostgreSQL, Airflow
   Version Control: GitHub
   Team Planning: Jira, Confluence
$150,000 - $170,000 a year
Why Join Us?
We are assembling a team of creative, talented visionaries seeking to build a new technology that will change healthcare. You will be able to learn, build, and scale our team and technology in a collaborative, creative culture that values every team member.

We Offer:
Generous equity grants of ISO stock options
We offer an exceptional benefits package with high employer-paid contributions for health, dental, and vision insurance
  4% 401(k) match
Flexible PTO, a weeklong winter shutdown, and 10 holidays each year
Occasional travel required - Quarterly team offsites
The opportunity to build a critical software platform that accelerates the American healthcare system's transition to value-based care

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States for the duration of their employment.
This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.  Applicants must be able to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.
