California Closets is a locally owned and operated business based in Nashville, with a full wood production facility where our custom systems are built with precision. We serve customers throughout Tennessee and North Alabama.

The Opportunity

We are hiring Installers to support our designers and customers in the Huntsville and Birmingham area. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their craftsmanship, works well as part of a team, and is comfortable working in customers homes.


We provide hands-on training and ongoing development so you can grow with us. Every project has a direct impact on our customers homes, and were looking for someone who takes pride in delivering a high-quality finished product.

Position details:

  • Schedule: Full time, Monday- Friday, 6:30am-3:00pm - (could be earlier and later depending on the job)
  • Compensation: $50,000-$80,000 per year
  • Main duties:Load vans with parts and be at customer's home around 8am. Install organization system per CADPro drawings. Excellent trim carpenter skills and interpersonal communications.
  • Position requirements include:Valid Driver's License, Excellent communication abilities (verbal and written), extended periods of walking, standing, stooping and lifting up to 20-50 lbs consistently, willingness to cross-train, team player
  • Tools:You provide your own tools. Company provides blades and other consumables.
  • Vehicles: Company provides vehicles, maintenance, gas, insurance.
  • Uniform & Appearance: California Closets provides logoed shirts. Team members are responsible for supplying their own footwear and khaki-colored pants or shorts.

  3. Relaxed Temperament: Our best installers are cool in the face of pressure and dont get bent out of shape when something requires a little problem solving. Maintaining a positive, constructive attitude even on hard installs is important to success in this role.
  4. Hard Working: A strong work ethic is important in this job. A typical week is about 40 hours but there will be times that more will be required.


      Job Duties:

      • Perform skilled carpentry work to install custom storage systems such as closets, cabinets, offices, garages, and other spaces in customer's homes.
      • Utilize company provided CAD drawings/blueprints to properly and efficiently install systems.
      • Assemble and install systems of varying complexity.
      • Assist in the removal and installation of materials in customer homes.
      • Maintain shop tools and equipment in safe working order.
      • Install systems independently or with team members depending on the size of the job.
      • Provide a high level of customer service for in-home installations.
      • Install materials safely and maintain safety standards at all times.
      • Responsible for driving to and from customer sites and maintaining company provided vehicles in a safe manner
      • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
