Cable Assembler II

Location: Beverly, MA
Pay: $21.00–$23.00/hour
Job Type: Temp-to-Perm
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM OR 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Earliest Start Time: 6:00 AM

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cable Assembler II to join our manufacturing team in Beverly, MA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on cable assembly, soldering, and manufacturing experience and be comfortable building standard cables from start to finish with minimal supervision.

This is a hands-on position that requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow manufacturing work instructions, and good mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Build cable assemblies according to prints, drawings, work instructions, and ECNs
  • Measure and cut wire, cable, and jackets to required lengths
  • Strip wires and perform wire termination
  • Crimp terminals manually and with machines
  • Solder wires, pins, terminals, and plugs
  • Repair rejected or defective product
  • Use small hand tools and cable assembly equipment
  • Follow detailed manufacturing work instructions (MWIs)
  • Measure accurately using a ruler, including fractions and increments of an inch
  • Understand and work within specified tolerances
  • Complete G4 assemblies
  • Maintain quality and accuracy throughout the assembly process

Requirements

  • 1+ year of hands-on cable assembly/manufacturing experience
  • Previous soldering experience is required
  • Must be able to read and follow detailed work instructions
  • Ability to read prints and/or drawings
  • Experience stripping and cutting wires to specific lengths
  • Experience crimping terminals
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong hand-eye coordination
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Academic or classroom-only soldering experience will not be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • IPC-610 and/or IPC-620 certification
  • Experience soldering wires and pins
  • Previous cable build experience
  • Manufacturing assembly experience

Interview & Skills Testing

Candidates will complete an on-site soldering and skills assessment during the interview process. Skills evaluated may include:

  • Soldering
  • Reading prints/drawings
  • Wire stripping
  • Measuring
  • Following detailed work instructions

Physical Requirements

  • Repetitive use of small hand tools
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to cut cable up to 2" in diameter
  • Ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods

Additional Requirements

  • 4-panel drug screening; THC is not a disqualifier
  • E-Verify required
  • This position is ITAR restricted and requires the candidate to be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR, meaning a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident
  • No visa sponsorship is available
