Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring SMTS Analog Design Engineer to Design, develop, modify, and test analog and mixed signal components/integrated circuitry for AMD’s existing products and new product initiatives, and related hardware systems. Use required technologies and methodologies to simulate and test mixed-signal designs. Drive/develop ASIC design flows and scripts.  Analyze complex digital design problems and propose solutions. Track signal performance and evaluate technical data to provide strategic recommendations and technical solutions to complex problems in performance and speed of AMD processors. Participate in collaborative multi-system projects related to enhancing the speed, efficiency, and performance of AMD’s processors. Propose and document specification and modification to improve analog/mixed signal circuits. Communicate project objectives and required tasks to internal team and provide external teams with updates on team’s progress towards broader design/engineering objectives. Drive layout and design reviews to ensure quality of deliverables and risk mitigation. Provide technical feedback to more senior members of technical staff and management to influence technical decisions resulting in positive impact on final products.  Can work remotely.

Qualifications: Degree required

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Four (4) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field, and six (6) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

Position requires four (4) years of experience in the following:

  • Analog mixed signal design from specification to successful silicon;
  • High-speed interfaces (DDR, GDDR, or HBM) and high-speed SERDES;
  • Designs with multiple power domains;
  • Logic and circuit design;
  • Unix and Linux environments; and
  • Electrostatic and latch up design for full chip.

Position requires two (2) years of experience in the following:

  • C, C++, or Python; and
  • Design flows and methodologies used for chip verification.
