Job description

Join a dynamic healthcare education team in the Midwest region as an Advanced RN SIM Coordinator. This role leads the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of simulation-based learning experiences within a clinical education setting. You will collaborate closely with nursing departments, faculty, and interdisciplinary teams to develop engaging scenarios that enhance critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise educators and participants involved in simulation grant projects.
  • Develop and refine simulation scenarios aligned with best practices from the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL).
  • Mentor content experts in scenario creation and debriefing techniques, modeling exemplary instructional methods.
  • Manage simulation equipment and ensure its proper organization and maintenance.
  • Coordinate simulation activities to meet learning objectives and oversee data collection for evaluation purposes.
  • Prepare detailed reports on grant outcomes and disseminate findings to stakeholders.

Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing required; Master's degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of three years clinical nursing experience and at least one year teaching nursing skills and critical thinking with proven success. Experience in developing educational programs based on needs assessments, generating reports, tracking outcomes, and intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is essential.
Certifications: Current RN license in a Compact State or equivalent required. ACLS Instructor certification preferred. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Physical and Work Environment: This role requires considerable mental focus, frequent walking, standing, and occasional lifting up to 35 lbs. The work environment includes teaching settings with typical office noise and potential exposure to infectious agents. Occasional encounters with challenging individuals may occur.
