Technician (T1)
Overview:
The Technician (T1) is a vital member of the Transformer Servicing Crew. This position works with the Leadman, Superintendent, and other members of the crew to ensure the safe and successful completion of projects within specified dates. Under close supervision, this role plays an important role in the installation and servicing of oil filled substation equipment. This position requires out of town travel.
Position Description
Qualifications & Necessary Attributes:
  • Entry level position. No experience required.
  • Basic knowledge of tool types and ability to read measurements (mechanical aptitude)
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from Supervisor
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. & ability to push/pull up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home for extended periods of time as required
  • Ability to work at times in harsh weather conditions
  • Capability of standing/walking for extended periods of time
  • Basic level of knowledge and understanding in Safety & OSHA requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with teammates
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Candidate must possess the Company's Core Values: Passion, Integrity, Hard Work and Professionalism.
  • Valid Driver's License required

Position Requirements
Essential Functions: (including but not limited to)
  • Assist crew with transformer rigging and hauling
  • Helps crew complete the installation and assembly of transformers (including equipment acceptance and commission testing)
  • Supports repairs on transformers and transformer components
  • Assist in testing, performing routine maintenance, and making minor repairs to transformers
  • Accountable for care and use of company equipment and tools
