This posting is for one (1) Temporary Full-Time that may continue until April 15, 2028

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is seeking one (1) highly organized and detail-oriented Traffic Enforcement Section to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the accurate, timely preparation, and electronic distribution of charge reports and supporting materials to the Traffic Enforcement Section and specific duties relating to Specialized Traffic Section and other areas of Traffic Services Branch. Your efforts will ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and authenticity of all court disclosure processes, contributing to the effectiveness of Edmonton's justice system.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and display professionalism, sound judgement, and sensitivity when dealing with confidential information.
  • Perform data entry and quality control for Daily Activity Reporting and CARM entries related to overtime, court time, vacation, and member leave.
  • Maintain Traffic Enforcement email and member distribution lists. 
  • Process and review photo violation submissions for completeness and compliance. 
  • Determine required actions and refer non-compliant reviews for resolution. 
  • Maintain tracking spreadsheets and records. 
  • Review Bylaw Tickets, identify errors, and communicate issues to members. 
  • Escalate ticket concerns to supervisory staff when required. 
  • Liaise with City of Edmonton Bylaw Administration and prepare cancellation memorandums. 
  • Order office supplies and coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs. 
  • Provide vacation coverage for the Specialized Traffic Section Clerk III.

Qualifications
  • Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects related to word and information processing, or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college, supplemented by training in basic microcomputer applications and a minimum of two (2) years diversified word and information processing experience.  (or) 
  • Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects related to data entry or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college 
  • A minimum of two (2) years diversified data entry experience including general office procedures. 
  • Progressively responsible experience within law enforcement agencies managing large databases is considered an asset.
  • Any further certificates, diplomas or degrees in an area related to policing, law or computer technology would be considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Excel as well as the ability to create, maintain and manipulate complex Excel spreadsheets.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Proven technical ability working with various computer software programs and databases.
  • Experience working with media technology.
  • Knowledge of the Criminal Code and court procedures would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated self-initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with JOIN, EPROS, NicheUA, Ethos, APIS, CARM and Microsoft Access are assets.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize a high-volume workload in a demanding fast paced environment.
  • Mature individual with the ability to adapt to change and work in a multidisciplinary team setting.

Hours of Work: 33.75 hours per week, Monday- Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of variable hours of work program.

Salary Range: 21M, Salary Grade: 006, $26.64 - $33.08 (Hourly); $1,798.20 - $2,233.00 (Bi-Weekly); $46,933.02 - $58,280.45 (Annually). 
The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
