As an Engineered Wood Material Handler, you will be responsible for keeping a high level of focus on safety while following procedures and policies that help to protect all our employee owners.  Must demonstrate a strong commitment to quality, accuracy, and continuous process improvement. This position is an integral part of our operations team and will require you to assist and work with others on the team. An ideal candidate will prefer a steady work style and enjoy executing clear objectives in a team-focused environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Pull inventory and cut product to size according to specifications.
  • Package units for delivery to help minimize damage while shipping.
  • Ensure orders are 100% accurate.
  • Load/ unload trucks and rail cars of building materials.
  • Help keep our EWP yard clean, well-organized, and safe.
  • Strong basic math skills required. 
  • Ability to read and understand a tape measure.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Utilize a chainsaw to cut material to size. 
  • Ability to read and comprehend documents (i.e. policy and procedure manuals); write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; deal with problems involving a few concrete variables and standardized situations.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • Or experience and/or training working with building materials and hand power tools. 
  • Forklift Qualified. 
  • Experience using a chainsaw.
  • Physical ability to work standing for extended periods of time and lifting of heavy materials.
