Job description

Job title: Digital Publishing Specialist

Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and Wolfram Language, is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Digital Publishing Specialist to support Stephen Wolfram's Writings. The primary responsibilities of the Publishing Specialist include the publishing and distribution of e-publications across multiple platforms, along with managing and maintaining author profiles. This position will interact directly with supporting internal teams and our CEO, Stephen Wolfram.

A clear background check will be required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Tracking and coordinating assigned day-to-day activities for output channels, including writings.stephenwolfram.com, arXiv and Google Scholar

• Coordinating with internal and external subject matter experts and research assistants to edit and implement material written by Stephen Wolfram

• Coordinating and executing assigned executive-initiated writing projects and other content-creation activities, including blog administration

• Interacting with cross-functional teams, including company executives, graphic design and product development teams

• Managing and maintaining author profiles across academic and professional platforms

• Managing multiple projects simultaneously

• Being available during nontraditional work hours for reactive editorial duties

• Researching and gathering information from disparate sources and media types

• Performing other administrative tasks as requested

Qualifications

• Proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grammar, spelling and punctuation

• High level of initiative

• Superb organizational skills

• Technical aptitude

• Ability to implement HTML in WordPress required

Preferred qualifications

• Familiarity with platforms such as Crossref, arXiv and Google Scholar

• Experience with Wolfram Language and Mathematica

Location: Fully remote and seeking candidates from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru

Job type: Full time (40 hours per week)/Independent Contractor

Reporting to: Executive Productivity Manager
