Job description

About the Role
Wolf Games is looking for a Senior Marketing Strategist to build our marketing function from the ground up. This is a foundational role responsible for creating the strategy, systems, and public presence that turn Wolf Games from a company with great products into a brand that players recognize and partners trust.
Working closely with the founders, you'll define how Wolf Games shows up to the world. You'll establish our brand positioning, build an owned player community, develop our marketing content and storytelling strategy, and create repeatable launch playbooks that support every game we release. You'll partner closely with Creative, Product, and Business Development to ensure our marketing efforts strengthen both player engagement and commercial partnerships.
Success in this role isn't measured by impressions or follower counts. It's measured by building an audience that returns to Wolf Games across titles, creating a brand that makes partnership conversations easier to win, and developing marketing systems that become more effective with every launch.
This is a true 0 → 1 opportunity. You'll begin as an individual contributor with significant ownership, helping establish the company's marketing foundation before growing a small team as the audience and business scale. If you're energized by building from scratch, moving quickly, and creating lasting competitive advantages through brand and community, you'll have an outsized impact on Wolf Games' future.
What You'll Do
  • Build Wolf Games' Marketing Function. Own the creation of Wolf Games' marketing strategy and operating model from the ground up. You'll establish the company's brand positioning, go-to-market approach, and marketing systems, creating the foundation for how Wolf communicates with players, partners, and the broader industry. You'll define priorities, build repeatable processes, and lay the groundwork for a marketing organization that scales alongside the business.
  • Grow an Owned Player Audience. Build and nurture Wolf Games' direct relationship with players. You'll develop our community strategy, launch and grow player spaces like Discord, and establish repeatable approaches for attracting, engaging, and retaining early players across multiple game launches. Your goal is to create an audience that follows Wolf Games-not just individual titles-and becomes an ongoing source of feedback, advocacy, and momentum.
  • Lead Brand & Content Strategy. Define how Wolf Games presents itself across every public touchpoint. You'll own brand positioning, messaging, website strategy, social presence, and our build-in-public content engine, ensuring every interaction reinforces who we are and what we're building. Partnering with Creative, you'll direct content strategy and campaigns that serve both players and commercial partners.
  • Own Game Launch Marketing. Lead the marketing strategy behind every game launch. You'll create repeatable launch playbooks that bring together community, content, creative, and partner marketing into coordinated campaigns that maximize awareness, engagement, and long-term player retention. Each launch should strengthen both the Wolf Games brand and the systems that support future releases.
  • Measure, Learn & Scale. Define the metrics that matter and continuously improve how marketing contributes to the business. You'll establish measurement frameworks for audience growth, community health, launch performance, and brand awareness, using data and experimentation to refine strategy, identify new opportunities, and demonstrate marketing's impact on player engagement and commercial success.
What Success Looks Like
Six to twelve months into the role, you'll have:
  • Built an engaged owned player community that regularly returns to Wolf Games across multiple titles.
  • Established a recognizable, modern Wolf Games brand that reflects the quality of our products and strengthens commercial partnerships.
  • Created repeatable launch playbooks that make each game release more effective than the last.
  • Built the marketing systems, metrics, and operating cadence that allow the function to scale alongside the business.
What We're Looking For
  • A 0 → 1 Builder. You've built something from scratch before-whether that's a marketing function, a brand, a community, or a go-to-market motion. You're comfortable operating with ambiguity, making decisions without perfect information, and shipping before everything feels finished.
  • Strategic Marketing Leader. You think beyond campaigns. You understand how brand, positioning, content, community, partnerships, and launches work together to create long-term business value. You're equally comfortable developing strategy and rolling up your sleeves to execute it.
  • Community-First Mindset. You know how to build genuine player communities, not just grow follower counts. You've created spaces where people return, engage, provide feedback, and become advocates, and you understand how community can improve both products and launches.
  • Exceptional Storyteller. You know how to turn products, people, and the work itself into compelling stories. Whether through social content, launch campaigns, or build-in-public initiatives, you create narratives that earn attention and reinforce the brand.
  • Launch & Go-to-Market Experience. You've led successful product, game, or entertainment launches involving multiple stakeholders and moving pieces. You understand how to coordinate teams, manage timelines, and create repeatable launch processes that improve over time.
  • Collaborative Leadership. You work exceptionally well across disciplines. You know how to influence founders, product managers, designers, engineers, and commercial teams, bringing people together around a shared vision without relying on formal authority.

Nice to Have
  • Experience in gaming, entertainment, consumer products, or creator-led businesses.
  • Experience building communities on platforms such as Discord.
  • Familiarity with build-in-public or founder-led content strategies.
  • Experience directing agencies, freelancers, or creative teams.
  • Comfortable using AI-powered creative and content tools to accelerate ideation and production.
Particularly Relevant Backgrounds
We're less interested in a specific title than in the problems you've solved. You might be a great fit if you've built marketing, brand, or community efforts in environments like:
  • Early-stage startups where you built a marketing function, brand, or go-to-market strategy from scratch.
  • Gaming, entertainment, or interactive media companies with player-facing communities.
  • Consumer technology, creator platforms, or digital products with strong community or audience growth.
  • Agencies or consultancies where you led brand strategy, launches, or integrated marketing for multiple clients.
  • Founder-led companies where marketing, storytelling, and product launches were deeply connected.
