Job description

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we've designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
Export Control: This position requires U.S. Citizenship to comply with government-imposed requirements related to the nature of the work
Amazon Leo engineering enterprise is looking for a Sr Manager, Enterprise Architect who will partner with Functional Tower Leaders (ERP, MES, PLM, WMS, SCP) to co-design solutions honoring architectural integrity and functional feasibility. Partners with Boundary Application Owners (procurement, time management, vendor portals, analytics, corporate finance) to govern how adjacent systems integrate. Partners with the Senior Manager, Business Process Excellence and SAP Functional Leaders to ensure process designs are technically implementable, and system designs serve process outcomes. Holds decision rights through the Architecture Authority forum when trade-offs span domains or integration boundaries. Builds and leads enterprise architects, integration architects, ABAP engineers, Basis engineers, and technical program resources organized around architecture domains, not application silos.
Key job responsibilities
Target-State Enterprise Architecture. Define and maintain target-state architecture, system boundaries, and clean-core guardrails. Lead the Architecture Authority forum with decision rights to approve or reject designs before build. Ensure architecture ownership and RACI are explicit across Functional Towers.
Boundary Systems Integration. Own integration standards, interface patterns, and orchestration across SAP and boundary platforms (PLM Teamcenter, MES, WMS, logistics). Drive API-first, EDI, event-driven, and batch patterns. Reduce one-off integrations and increase pattern reuse.
ABAP Engineering Quality. Lead ABAP standards, code quality, review discipline, documentation, and technical debt reduction. Ensure custom development is justified, supportable, and aligned to architecture standards.
Basis and Platform Engineering. Own environment health, patching, performance, transport integrity, resilience, and upgrade readiness. Oversee SAP S/4HANA platform architecture from an integration and integrity perspective.
Program Execution Planning. Plan technical capacity across employees and SI resources. Ensure critical work is staffed deliberately, and engineering capacity is planned as a system, not negotiated weekly.
ITGC Ownership. Own SAP-related ITGC design across change management, access, operations, and evidence. Ensure controls are built into the operating model, not discovered after audit begins.
GRC and Access Governance. Own SoD rule governance, privileged access design, firefighter process, and remediation. Ensure access is role-based and emergency access does not become permanent.
Release Architecture and Production Readiness. Ensure architecture, controls, and environment readiness are integrated into release gates. Releases must be documented, supportable, and auditable before production.
Technical Vendor Governance. Set engineering standards for SI partners, inspect through outcome-oriented scorecards. Measure vendors on quality, documentation, reuse, and knowledge transfer.
Master Data and System-Boundary Discipline. Govern master data ownership and cross-system control points. Establish system-of-record assignments and canonical data models that scale across factories and product lines.
Technical Bench Strength. Build, hire, and develop the team. Own the full talent lifecycle. Build durable operating cadences, review forums, succession, and cross-training so the function scales without heroics.
