Position Summary

The Forklift Operator is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations through the safe and efficient operation of sit-down forklifts and other material-handling equipment. This role plays a critical part in loading, unloading, storing, and moving materials, including bonded import and export cargo. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and able to work effectively in a team-oriented warehouse environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate sit-down forklifts and pallet jacks to load, unload, transport, and stack materials within the warehouse
  • Safely maneuver equipment in narrow aisles, tight spaces, and congested work areas while following all safety procedures
  • Load and offload trailers and containers
  • Handle bonded import and export cargo and maintain required documentation
  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against purchase orders and delivery documents
  • Report damaged items, discrepancies, or safety concerns to management
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using handheld scanners and the WMS system
  • Perform routine forklift inspections and report mechanical or safety issues
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including housekeeping duties
  • Assist with additional warehouse duties as assigned
  • Work overtime and travel to different local warehouse locations when business needs require

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant forklift operating experience
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness and ability to learn regulatory guidelines related to import and export cargo handling
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check in compliance with CBP and TSA regulations
  • Strong attendance and reliability
