The Material Flow Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient movement and management of materials within our manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for analyzing material flow processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to optimize inventory control, logistics, and overall supply chain efficiency. The specialist collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and procurement, to support Excellerate launches and sustain ongoing operations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
Experience: 2-4 years of experience in material flow, logistics, or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus. Proficiency in ERP systems and data analysis tools preferred.
Travel: Up to 25% depending on business needs.
Work Schedule:This position works between the hours of 6 am and 6 pm, Monday through Friday. Works a sufficient schedule to meet the expectations of the role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Material Flow Analysis & Optimization:
  • Assess current material handling processes to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
  • Develop and implement strategies to streamline material flow, reduce waste, and improve throughput.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to design optimal layouts for material storage and movement.

Inventory Management:
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure alignment with production schedules and minimize stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Coordinate with procurement and materials teams to manage material replenishment and storage solutions.
  • Utilize ERP/WMS systems to track inventory movements and maintain accurate records.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with product development and procurement teams to plan material requirements for new OEM product launches.
  • Work with engineering and operations to develop layout updates, workstation configurations, and internal logistics pathways to optimize space and movement.
  • Participate in cross-departmental meetings to align material flow strategies with overall business objectives.

Process Improvement & Continuous Development:
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and lead initiatives to implement best practices in material handling.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions.
  • Provide training and support to team members on new processes and systems.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
