Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
This position will execute the daily work activities and monitor the work performance of a group of 10 or more seasonal employees. This position will supervise multiple processes (picking, oversize, shipping, recoup, packing, or work areas [CYO, Assembly, PODS]) within their assigned areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIITIES
Major responsibilities of the position are listed below. To perform the job successfully, the individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties, assignments and specific projects may be assigned at the discretion of executive management.
  • Responsible for all the labor and processes within the assigned work area. Provide day to day direction to STL staff as needed.
  • Assist in training processes and specific duties and serve as the first point of contact for associate questions and concerns. May assist in training leadership team.
  • Track and/or review productivity to ensure goals, deadlines and outputs are met.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of product to ensure company quality standards and GMP's are met.
  • Ensure appropriate product receipt, storage, picking, packaging and shipping procedures for their assigned work area and team.
  • Proficiency and knowledge required in Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Provide constructive and timely feedback to associates (one on one or in a group setting) regarding performance and productivity. Use department tracking and reports. Able to conduct start-up meetings for the entire department as needed
  • Assist in updating and documenting procedural changes and is proficient at all functions within the department.
  • Impact retention positively by fostering a respectful team environment that supports Workplace Values through professional communication, motivation and timely problem resolution
  • Maintain and actively support safety programs, immediately addressing safety issues and ensuring proper usage of equipment
  • Coordinate workflow utilizing WMS and assign specific work assignments (replenishment, picking, full pallet pulls, etc.) by sending messages to hand-held scanner. Coordinate work through 2 systems requesting material moves ensuring right part to the right line at the right time.
  • Assist Working Supervisor in the development and delivery of PDR's and PIAs for direct reports
  • Proactively address bottlenecks in operation and demonstrate the required proficiency and knowledge in operational and system related functions
  • Maintain close communication with Shipping Working Supervisor, Fulfillment Support Supervisors, Coordinators and Trainers to ensure product flow and assist with problem resolution
  • Report shortages, trends and issues proactively to avoid or head off potential problems
  • Ensure compliance with all department procedures and standards are followed and met
  • Work on the floor in a production role during non-peak performing manual labor as required
  • Perform pre-stretching exercises (5-10 minutes)
  • Perform other duties and works in other departments assigned

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Some college experience preferred.
  • 2+ year of supervisory or team leader experience. Proven leadership skills, with the ability to effectively provide feedback regarding departmental and individual performance. Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal) Strong PC and systems experience.
  • Ability to be certified on all forklift equipment as assigned.
  • Lift up to 50+ lbs.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, consistently meeting deadline with accurate and detailed results
