Job description

We are looking for a Senior WMS Business Systems Analyst to own the functional side of our warehouse management platform across our distribution network. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands how a DC actually runs, not just what the process document says, and can translate floor reality into clear requirements, configuration, and stable systems.
You will sit between warehouse operations and engineering: running requirement workshops with DC supervisors and ops leads, configuring and validating WMS behavior, owning integrations to ERP, TMS, MHE/WCS, robotics, and 3PL partners, and staying accountable through UAT, cutover, go-live, and hypercare. You will also be a senior escalation point for L2/L3 production issues.
What You Will Do:
  • Business Analysis & Requirements
    • Discover how work really happens: run workshops, floor walks, and working sessions with warehouse supervisors, ops leads, planning, transportation, and vendor teams to capture current-state process and pain points.
    • Document with rigor: produce BRDs, SOPs, functional specs, user stories with acceptance criteria, current/future-state process flows, data mappings, and gap analyses that engineering and vendors can build from without guesswork.
    • Own the gap analysis: identify where WMS configuration diverges from how teams actually work, quantify the operational impact, and drive recommendations to business sign-off.
  • WMS Configuration & Solution Design
    • Partner with the WMS vendor - raise and track product defects and change requests, review and sign off on vendor-delivered modifications and patch/release bundles, and participate in design reviews.
    • Translate business rules into system behavior - work with developers and middleware engineers on custom logic, and validate that what was built matches what was specified.
  • Integrations
    • Own functional integration design across the supply chain stack - ERP (order, inventory, PO, shipment), parcel carriers, MHE/WES/WCS, and sortation.
    • Lead data mapping and message flow design - define inbound/outbound message specifications, validate payloads via REST/JSON and API test tooling, and troubleshoot integration failures end-to-end.
    • Drive integration testing; build and execute end-to-end test scenarios spanning WMS, middleware, and upstream/downstream systems, including migrations and platform upgrades.
  • Testing, Cutover & Go-Live
    • Own test strategy and UAT; author test scripts and scenarios, coordinate business testers, track and triage defects, and manage formal sign-off.
    • Plan and execute cutover data migration validation, dry runs, contingency plans, and readiness checkpoints with operations.
    • Support go-live and hypercare by being on the floor or on call during stabilization, resolve issues fast, and hand over cleanly to the support team.
  • Production Support & Continuous Improvement
    • Act as senior escalation for L2/L3 WMS incidents: triage, root cause analysis, permanent fix, and post-incident review, with clear stakeholder communication throughout the incident lifecycle.
    • Analyze incident patterns: use logs, database queries, and middleware queue analysis to find systemic failure points and drive configuration or process fixes that reduce recurring volume.
    • Support peak readiness: capacity and performance validation, change freezes, runbooks and escalation paths ahead of high-volume periods.

What You Bring
Required Skills:

  • 8+ years in IT business analysis, application support, or systems consulting, including 5+ years hands-on with a Tier-1 warehouse management system (e.g., Manhattan Active WMS / WMOS, SAP EWM, Blue Yonder, Oracle WMS, JD Edwards or comparable).
  • Demonstrated ownership of WMS configuration across inbound, inventory, outbound, and shipping
  • Strong working knowledge of DC operations: receiving, putaway, replenishment, wave planning, picking, packing, shipping, cycle counting and returns.
  • Proven experience with WMS integrations to ERP, TMS/parcel, MHE/WCS and 3PL systems, including data mapping and message-level troubleshooting.
  • Excellent BA craft: BRDs, functional specs, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, gap analysis and traceability.
  • SQL proficiency: able to independently query warehouse data to investigate transactions, order status, and inventory discrepancies.
  • Hands-on experience owning UAT, cutover planning, go-live support and post-go-live hypercare.
  • L2/L3 production support experience with formal incident and RCA discipline in an ITSM tool (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or similar).
  • Willingness to support critical incidents, releases, and peak periods outside standard hours; comfortable working with onsite/offshore teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Skills:
  • Manhattan WMS depth (Manhattan Active WMS, WMOS 2017/2019, MIF/MSF frameworks, SDN release cycles, Manhattan CoE engagement).
  • MHE and automation exposure, WES/WCS, sortation, conveyor, print-and-apply, RF/voice, goods-to-person or AMR robotics.
  • Retail, apparel, or high-growth DTC fulfillment background, including multi-node and cross-border (US/Canada) DC networks.

Benefits:
  • 401(k).
  • Dental Insurance.
  • Health insurance.
  • Vision insurance.
  • We are an equal-opportunity employer and value diversity, equality, inclusion, and respect for people.
  • The salary will be determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, location, relevant education, qualifications, experience, technical skills, and business needs.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Participate in OP monthly team meetings and participate in team-building efforts.
  • Contribute to OP technical discussions, peer reviews, etc.
  • Contribute content and collaborate via the OP-Wiki/Knowledge Base.
  • Provide status reports to OP Account Management as requested.
