ABOUT AK LAW FIRM

We are a high-performing personal injury law firm committed to delivering exceptional legal advocacy and compassionate client service. Our Litigation Department is focused on excellence in trial preparation and case strategy, and we are currently seeking a Litigation Paralegal to support our Senior Litigation Attorney and broader litigation team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary

The Litigation Paralegal will work under the supervision of the Senior Litigation Attorney and

support a team of three attorneys. This role involves active participation in all stages of litigation, including case development, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation. The Junior Attorney will also serve as a back-up to the Senior Litigation Attorney to ensure seamless case management and client service.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in personal injury law

Strong understanding of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and applicable court requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

High level of attention to detail, organization, and accuracy

Ability to handle high volumes of work while remaining focused and proactive

Experience drafting and managing discovery, legal documents, and trial preparation

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management systems

Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and independently manage assigned responsibilities

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Key Responsibilities

Draft and respond to discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission

Prepare, edit, and finalize legal correspondence and pre- trial motions under attorney supervision

Manage and organize case files, maintain accurate docketing, and ensure all deadlines are met

Create and maintain trial binders, exhibit lists, and witness preparation materials

Conduct detailed reviews of medical records, police reports, and other case evidence

Coordinate with clients, experts, and witnesses to support case preparation and trial readiness

Assist with pre-trial preparation, including subpoenas, scheduling depositions, and court filings

Prepare notebooks, summaries, and case chronologies for attorneys

Ensure adherence to all applicable court rules, local rules, and Texas personal injury procedures and guidelines

Serve as a point of contact for case updates, supporting the Senior Litigation Attorney and maintaining clear communication with clients
