Structural Engineer โ€“ Investigative

$94,000 โ€“ $115,000 per year

Lakewood, CO (Denver Metro)


About the Role

We are currently seeking a mid-level Professional Structural Engineer to join our Investigative Engineering Group in the Denver, CO area. We are supporting a full-service civil and structural consulting engineering firm with decades of industry experience that is adding to its team. This is an opportunity to work on a diverse and technically challenging portfolio of projects while building lasting client relationships.


Typical projects include:

  • Structural investigations and building renovations/repairs
  • Concrete repair and restoration
  • Building envelope and faรงade access systems
  • Fall protection systems
  • Expert witness work
  • Non-destructive testing (NDT)


What You'll Do

  • Lead and coordinate field investigations with in-house staff and clients
  • Serve as the primary client point of contact throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop engineering reports, repair documents, and construction drawings
  • Write and edit technical specifications
  • Recommend and oversee testing programs
  • Perform construction administration services
  • Manage project schedules, work plans, and budgets
  • Collaborate with and mentor engineering and technician staff
  • Support business development and marketing activities
  • Participate in industry and professional society events

Projects are primarily regional with occasional national travel opportunities.


Required:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 4+ years of progressive structural engineering experience
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and construction standards
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both in-office and in the field (including non-ADA accessible sites and confined spaces)


Preferred:

  • 6โ€“8 years of progressive engineering experience
  • Experience managing projects from design through construction completion
  • Active membership in professional or technical societies
  • Strong desire for continued professional development


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work on construction sites, climb ladders, and access confined spaces
  • Occasional lifting of equipment up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working in both office and non-standard field environments
