Job description

We are seeking a Locum Obstetrician/Gynecologist to begin as soon as possible for an ongoing position near South Highlands, WA. A Washington state license is preferred.


Job Details
  • Clinic hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
  • On-call hours are from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM.
  • Call frequency is 1:3.
  • Call type is beeper-based.
  • Practice settings include both outpatient and inpatient care.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage low-risk and high-risk pregnancies.
  • Interpret fetal heart rate through NST/CST/FSE.
  • Perform routine deliveries, including vaginal births and low forceps deliveries.
  • Make decisions regarding cesarean sections and handle complicated deliveries.
  • Address breech presentations and multiple births.
  • Manage abruptions and VBACs.
  • Repair third and fourth-degree lacerations.
  • Conduct surgical gynecology procedures, including open and laparoscopic diagnostics.
  • Perform operative procedures for ectopic pregnancies, ovary removals, cystectomies, and extensive laparoscopic surgeries.
Qualifications
  • Average annual deliveries: approximately 1,650.
  • Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, and Fetal Heart Monitoring.
  • A fellowship is preferred.
  • Must hold a valid Washington state license or be part of the IMLC.
  • Experience in a Level 3 Trauma center is necessary.
  • A clean history and malpractice record are required.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as McKesson and Athena is beneficial.
  • Temporary privileges can be granted for providers with a clean background and completed application.
Compensation and Benefits
  • A referral bonus of $2,000 is available for any referral who completes 160 hours of work.
  • Competitive rates for weeknight call premiums if called in.
  • Weekend call is compensated at a rate equivalent to 6 regular hours per day when called in.
  • Competitive hourly pay, along with housing, car rental, gas, mileage (for personal vehicle use only), parking, tolls, and baggage fees.
  • A++ rated malpractice insurance with tail coverage is included.
