Job description

Position Summary:

The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Anesthesia is seeking a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CAA/CRNA). This position is located in Milwaukee, WI. This role will work with a medically directed team involving faculty anesthesiologists, anesthesiology fellows, residents, and advanced practice certified nurse anesthetists and CAAs. The successful candidate must possess the ability to provide high-quality anesthesia care to a complex patient population, workingdirectly under the supervision of ourAdultAnesthesiologists and as part of a team of highly trained and dedicated team of CAAs and certified nurse anesthetists.

Position Highlights

  • A variety of Schedules: 1 week on/1 week off, 3x13 hour shifts, Same Day off each week, etc. No Call on Nights and Occasional Weekends

  • Ability to join specialty teams: Cardiac, Whipple, Neurosurgery, and Regional Pain teams

  • Abilities needed: placement of Central lines, Arterial lines, Fiber optic intubation, neuraxial anesthetics, Double Lumen Endotracheal tube placement

    The Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin regional health network is a partnership between Froedtert Health and the Medical College of Wisconsin supporting a shared mission of patient care, innovation, medical research, and education. Our health network operates eastern Wisconsin's only academic medical center and adult Level I Trauma center engaged in thousands of clinical trials and studies. The Froedtert & MCW health network, which includes ten hospitals, nearly 2,000 physicians and more than 45 health centers and clinics.

    Patient Care

    We provide care in several different locations throughout the Milwaukee area, including:

    • Froedtert Hospital, a 689-bed Level-1 Trauma Center that features an Integrated Procedural Platform with state-of-the-art equipment and technology across 32 ORs, approximately 16 out-of-OR anesthetizing locations daily, an award-winning Birth Center and a highly rated Cardiovascular intensive care unit located within a bustling regional medical center next to Wisconsin's largest city.

    • Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital and Froedtert West Bend Hospital, which are both smaller full-service community hospitals that have adjacent ambulatory surgery centers

    • Two additional ambulatory surgery centers in Wauwatosa and Oak Creek

    Qualifications:Preferred Experience:
    • Previous CAA/CRNA experience in Adult Anesthesiology or Adult Health Care experience a plus!

    Minimum Education:
    • CAA: Master's of Science in Anesthesiology

    • CRNA: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing

    Certification:
    • Candidates can be either a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant or Certified Nurse Anesthetists

    • Board eligible for certification are also encouraged to apply

    Licensure:
    • Wisconsin licensure or eligible

    • AHA BCLS and/or ACLS
