Job description

Position requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with ability to obtain additional security requirements. Please do not apply if you do not possess the required Top-Secret Clearance. Position Summary: We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer specializing in enterprise wireless systems to serve as the Subject Matter Expert for wireless network architecture, deployment, and sustainment. The candidate will be responsible for predictive and physical wireless site surveys, RF analysis, interference mitigation, and designing secure, high‑performance wireless solutions across large‑scale enterprise environments. This position requires a strong understanding of modern wireless standards, HPE Aruba controllers and access points, and secure DoD network environments. The selected candidate will support mission operations at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling and must maintain an active TS/SCI clearance. Key Responsibilities: * Serve as the SME for enterprise wireless networking architecture, design, deployment, and optimization. * Conduct predictive and physical wireless site surveys using professional RF design tools. * Engineer and deploy complex Wi‑Fi solutions to support secure, high‑density, and mission-critical networks. * Diagnose and troubleshoot RF interference, channel overlap, performance degradation, and connectivity issues. * Manage wireless LAN controllers, access points, authentication methods, and wireless policy enforcement. * Support configuration, tuning, and lifecycle management of HPE Aruba controllers and access points. * Apply expertise in 802.11be, 802.11ax, and related wireless standards in enterprise deployments. * Provide Tier III engineering support and root cause analysis for wireless network incidents. * Ensure wireless solutions meet DoD security compliance requirements and integrate effectively with enterprise security tools. * Develop comprehensive design documentation, heat maps, topology diagrams, and configuration standards. Required Qualifications: * Active TS/SCI clearance. * 10+ years of experience in network engineering with a specialization in wireless networking. * DoD 8140 qualification: 441 - Network Operations Specialist. * At least two of the following required certifications: * CWSP (or equivalent vendor wireless professional certification) * Security+ * Certified Wireless Network Professionals CWDP (or equivalent vendor design certification) * CCNP Security (or CISSP) * Strong technical understanding of: * HPE Aruba controllers and access points * 802.11be (Wi‑Fi 7) and 802.11ax (Wi‑Fi 6/6E) standards * RF design, interference mitigation, and wireless performance tuning * Wireless authentication and security protocols (WPA3, 802.1X, RADIUS, etc.) Preferred Certifications (Plus): * CWDP * Ekahau design training/certification * CCNP Enterprise * Expert‑level wireless/vendor certifications * Enterprise wireless architecture experience or credentials Preferred Experience: * Designing secure enterprise wireless networks in DoD or IC environments. * Conducting predictive RF modeling and field validation with tools such as Ekahau or AirMagnet. * Large‑scale wireless deployments involving high-density or mission-critical requirements. * Integrating wireless systems with security, monitoring, and analytics platforms.
