Position Overview

Description

Stimulus Technologies is seeking a dependable and technically skilled Fiber / Wireless Installer to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber and wireless communication systems and network infrastructure. This role blends hands-on fiber and wireless installation with foundational IT/network support. 


The ideal candidate is comfortable working at heights, has experience working with customers and can perform installation services for fiber service delivery, wireless service delivery, and possesses a solid understanding of IT and networking systems.


Key Responsibilities

Fiber Optics (Preferred / Plus)

  • Assist with basic fiber installation, termination, or troubleshooting
  • Perform testing using power meters or other tools (if experienced)
  • Work alongside fiber teams when needed

Wireless & Network Systems

  • Install and configure wireless backhaul and point-to-point/point-to-multipoint systems
  • Troubleshoot signal, interference, and connectivity issues
  • Assist with commissioning and testing of wireless networks
  • Work with RF and networking teams to optimize system performance

IT & Technical Support

  • Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, and network devices
  • Support basic LAN/WAN infrastructure and IP connectivity issues
  • Assist with device setup, firmware updates, and remote access systems
  • Maintain documentation of network configurations and installations

Tower Climbing & Wireless Installation

  • Climb telecommunications towers (200–500+ ft) to install, maintain, and upgrade antennas, radios, and cabling
  • Install and align wireless equipment including microwave dishes, LTE/5G radios, and access points
  • Perform cable installation (coax, power, grounding) and weatherproofing
  • Follow all safety protocols and perform site inspections


Education and Experience

Required

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, routers, switches)
  • Ability to work at heights and in outdoor environments
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass background check

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Fiber optic experience (splicing, testing, or installation)
  • Experience in tower climbing 
  • Certifications such as:
  • OSHA 10/30
  • ComTrain or tower safety certification
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar
  • Experience with ISP, WISP, or telecom environments
  • Knowledge of RF fundamentals and wireless technologies

  • Good communication and documentation skills
  • Adaptability in fast-paced field environments

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to climb towers and work at significant heights
  • Lift and carry 50–75 lbs of equipment
