Job description

Job Description - Coordinator, Wireless Cellular & Mobility Services (RTP20260803-041) Job Description Coordinator, Wireless Cellular & Mobility Services - ( RTP20260803-041 ) Description
  • Administer the district’s enterprise cellular and mobility services program, including wireless voice, data, hotspots, tablets, mobile broadband, Cradlepoint devices, and other connectivity solutions supporting instructional and business operations.
  • Coordinate the ordering, provisioning, activation, suspension, deactivation, deployment, and ongoing administration of cellular devices and wireless services while ensuring compliance with district standards and carrier requirements.
  • Serve as the district’s primary subject matter expert for enterprise mobility services, providing technical guidance on cellular technologies, wireless carrier services, mobile connectivity, LTE/5G networks, SIM/eSIM provisioning, and emerging mobility solutions.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain governance standards, operational procedures, technical documentation, and best practices supporting enterprise mobility, mobile device security, device lifecycle management, and wireless service administration.
  • Ensure compliance with district cybersecurity standards, mobile device security policies, regulatory requirements, technology audits, asset verification activities, compliance reviews, and reporting requirements related to enterprise mobility services.
  • Review, reconcile, and administer wireless carrier invoices, service plans, billing allocations, departmental chargeback reports, financial documentation, procurement activities, contract administration, annual budget planning, billing discrepancy resolution, service optimization, and cost‑saving initiatives.
  • Maintain accountability for cellular devices, SIM/eSIM assets, hotspots, Cradlepoint equipment, and related wireless technologies through established asset management and inventory control practices.
  • Coordinate device lifecycle activities including deployments, upgrades, repairs, warranty replacements, employee transfers, recoveries, reassignments, surplus management, environmentally responsible disposal, and management of wireless connectivity solutions for district events, emergency operations, temporary connectivity needs, and network outage response.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with wireless carriers, manufacturers, and service providers; analyze and resolve complex wireless connectivity issues; evaluate technologies and carrier services; monitor utilization, performance metrics, and technology trends; prepare reports and recommendations supporting executive decision‑making, continuous improvement, and other district technology operations as assigned.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Telecommunications, or a related field preferred
  • Five (5) years of experience supporting enterprise cellular services, telecommunications, wireless technologies, enterprise mobility platforms, and telecommunications expense management.
  • Advanced knowledge of wireless carrier operations, LTE/5G technologies, SIM/eSIM provisioning, enterprise mobility services, and telecommunications industry best practices.
  • Knowledge of mobile device security, governance frameworks, compliance standards, device lifecycle management, wireless service administration, inventory management, financial reporting, and carrier billing reconciliation.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, troubleshooting, customer service, vendor management, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; public sector or K-12 experience preferred.
